HYDROFORMATION OF ALKENES BY SN [CO (CO) 4] 4 IN HOMOGENEOUS

Abstract:

We have studied the catalytic activity of the system Sn[Co(CO)4]4 (1) in the hydroformylation reaction of 1-pentene at 57 and 100 atm and 150-degrees-C, with and without phosphine ligand addition. We have evidences suggesting the partial recombination of (1) in CO2(CO)8 which is the real precursor in the process.
