4.0 Upkeep for Oil Pipelines in the Petroleum Industry: A Scoping Review

Abstract:

The oil industry was one of the first to enter Industry 4.0. This happened because the activities they perform and the dynamic environments in which they operate forced them to evolve technologically, being propelled to protect their infrastructure, pipelines, and especially their personnel. This paper presents a scoping review, based on the PRISMA guidelines, of pipeline maintenance methodologies based on industry 4.0. The results show that pbkp_redictive maintenance compared to preventive maintenance has a percentage difference in upkeep time optimization of 38% in the last five years. This difference was corroborated with a T-Student for independent samples, with a significance of 0.023. Likewise, the most used technologies were analyzed, with artificial intelligence standing out at 45.16%.
