Abstract:

HIV / AIDS represents a public health problem at a global level, antiretroviral treatment has favored the reduction of transmission and the carrier can live longer and in better health. However, vertical transmission is difficult to control, therefore, HIV + pregnant women are subjected to treatment regimens for control, when viral load is less than 59 copies / ml or is undetectable, the recommendation would be vaginal delivery, while if it is greater than 1000 c / ml, the pregnant woman had a late diagnosis, her viral load is not accurate and she did not receive ART during pregnancy, the medical order is elective cessation with prophylaxis and prophylaxis. This implies an increase in fiscal spending, analyzing the cost-benefit ratio of the HIV + mother of vaginal delivery and elective caesarean section.
