408 Usefulness of Minnesota living with heart failure questionnaire in Spain
Abstract:
Results: RV enlargement, defined as a tricuspidal ring greater than 120 mm, was found in 5 cases (42%). In all cases it was associated with LV dilatation (yielding biventricular enlargement). These patients showed significantly higher AR vs the others (26%[24-27%] vs 10%[3-18%], p= 0.048). When the subjects were divided in three groups according to progressive cardiac remodeling (absence of cardiac dilatation, isolated LV dilatation and biventricular enlargement), the latter group had significantly higher AR vs the other 2 groups, therefore showing increasing rates of myocardiocyte apoptosis with more unfavorable forms of cardiac remodeling (p for trend 0.008). Conclusion: Patients with severely unfavorable cardiac remodeling, such as biventricular enlargement, have extremely high myocardiocyte apoptosis at post-mortem examination even late after LV myocardial infarction, supporting the role of …
