Hepatic abscess drained by laparoscopy


Abstract:

Hepatic abscess is a collection of purulent secretion in the parenchyma that may be pyogenic and amebic. This sickness has a low incidence and high morbidity and mortality. It has had changes in treatment that have allowed acceptable success rates. This case of a male pa-tient with high temperature and abdominal pain diagnosed as abscess, using antibiotic treatment and laparoscopic drainage, which has a favorable evolution and is discharged. Laparoscopic drainage has a comparable success rate with percu-taneous drainage and open surgery making it an acceptable and useful option for selected patients who require it.
