Herpes gestationis treated with cyclosporine and corticosteroids

Abstract:

Herpes gestationis is a rare pruritic disease of pregnancy that, in some cases, produces prematurity and low weight of fetum. We present a 25-year-old pregnant woman that at week 20th had herpes gestationis not controlable at all with 50 mg/d prednisone and we added cyclosporine 3 mg/kg/d with rapid improvement. We review this disease and the posible treatment with cyclosporine in resistant cases.
