Hibrids hydrogels nano y micro structured of polyacrylamide/hydroxyapatite/silver
Abstract:
In the search for osteoinductive and bactericides materials, new hybrid hydrogels based on the combination of polyacrylamide (PAAm) with Hydroxyapatite nanoparticles (HAP) were synthesized via free radicals in solution by adding different concentrations of silver nitrate as Ag-precursor. Structural characterization by XRPD, UV-visible, SEM and TEM revealed the formation of polymeric networks with heterogeneous nano and macroporous structures, containing Ag nanoparticles and the formation of a new crystalline phase of Silver phosphate (Ag<inf>3</inf>PO<inf>4</inf>), along with starting hydroxyapatite. These particles display a wide distribution of sizes (nano to micron) and different morphologies with increasing concentration of Ag+. The hydrophilic proferties of the matrix, in simulated body fluid at 37 °C, are clearly affected by the increased concentration of the inorganic particles. The structure of the polyacrylamide network obtained is stable at the body temperature.
