Higher Education within the contemporary ecuadorian national reality
Abstract:
This work makes a critical analysis of the role of Education - particularly the Superior- during the process of Ecuadorian social change, called "Citizen Revolution" (2007 -2017) -whose paradigm was the construction of a model of anti-capitalist economic development-. It is concluded that Higher Education did not assume the important role it had during this process. On the contrary, the University Reform of the Citizen Revolution instituted the educational model that modern capitalism requires at the global level, in order to maintain its hegemony.
