Abstract:

One day a home visit to Molly struck me so much that her image remained photographed in my mind. She was elderly and had the gnarled, lumpy fingers of a rheumatoid arthritis sufferer. She had been in incapacitating, chronic intractable pain for several years and all the therapy that she had tried had offered little in the way of relief.
