How Information and communications technology is used by Ecuadorian teachers and students


Abstract:

This study analyzes some aspects of how ICT is used by high school teachers and students. A quantitative study is conducted through surveys applied to teachers and students from three cities in southern Ecuador. The results point to teachers rarely use technological tools to contact their colleagues, and students are not very efficient in the ICT use. More training is needed in both audiences to gain confidence in their competence and facilitate, improve and expand the ICT use inside and outside the classroom.
