Human Papillomavirus and sexual behavior in women students of the nursing career of the University of Guayaquil, Ecuador 2018-2020
Abstract:
Acuminate condylomas (CA) are the clinical expression of oncologically considered low-risk, benign spectrum human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, considered a sexually transmitted infection (STI) with high levels of incidence in the female population. The objective of this research was to characterize in the sexual behavior of female students of the Nursing Career of the University Guayaquil, the risk factors associated with the Condyloma acuminate produced by the human papillomavirus (HPV) for the period July 2018-March 2020. Quantitative, field, cross-sectional descriptive study. The study population was 293 cases and the sample of 116 patients. For the data collection, the descriptive data sheet, the clinical history, the survey and a data sheet were used for the information collected from body fluid samples. The analysis of the data was performed a statistical analysis, integrating the calculation of frequencies and 95% confidence intervals. The results showed that 43.10% of the sample showed HPV+, with symptoms such as pruritus (53.45%), hypersensitivity (25.86%), dyspareunia (24.14%) and 14.66% with genital warts. Between the risk factors, the high number of couples, sexual initiation at an early age, use of tobacco, not to use condoms, among others, so it is necessary to launch an educational campaign using the media and social networks to promote the sexual hygiene and health of the female population.
