ICT readiness model and adoption of electronic commerce in the trade sector


Abstract:

This article proposes a ICT Readiness Model and the adoption of E-commerce from the internal and external organizational environment of the commerce sector. The research design is exploratory, with a type of descriptive and correlational analysis. In order to validate the model, a questionnaire was elaborated that was applied through an interview directed to a representative sample of the population, integrated by employees and managers of companies of one of the mercantile cities of Ecuador. The results show the diversity of critical factors that influence the implementation of ICT and e-commerce, determining an 80% interrelation between the variables treated according to reliability analysis; however, 57.58% of the elements are related to each other, through Pearson's correlation analysis.
