IMPLEMENTATION OF CARE MANAGERS FOR PATIENTS WITH DEPRESSION: A CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY IN PRIMARY CARE CENTERS
Abstract:
Introduction: Mental health problems seriously burden patients and health systems worldwide. Objectives: To analyze the implementation of collaborative care with a care manager in a primary healthcare setting. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in parallel with a cluster randomized controlled trial. Results: Among the 36 primary care centers, 461 (59%) physicians and 36 (100%) directors participated. Conclusions: Facilitators and barriers to implementation, such as time, information, values, and financial structure should be taken into account when implementing care managers in CAPs.
