IN PRE-SCHOOL PATIENTS AND ITS RISK FACTORSCARIES

Abstract:

This research seeks to identify what are the main reasons for the prevalence of caries in pre-school children of ages 3 to 5. We know that caries is a chronic, multifactorial disease that is 100% preventable. An assessment of 30 medical records of the Odontopeques office in the Iñaquito Quito-Ecuador sector was carried out, and in addition to corroborating the data, an interview was conducted with the owner of the office. Where after an analysis of the contents, we have that there is a prevalence of caries of 70%. It is concluded that among the main reasons for the prevalence of caries is the lack of preventive culture regarding health. It could be recommended that the state, together with the government in power, use more resources to educate about prevention. Thus, we would have a reduction in the rate of caries in all sectors of the country.
