Abstract:

BACKGROUND Frequently mechanically ventilated patients may show clinical conditions associated with bronchial secretions. Adequate airway clearance is key therapeutic factor to facilitate gas exchange and prevent complications (endotracheal occlusion tube, atelectasia, ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP), difficult weaning, etc)(1).
