INTERVENTION OF THE SOCIAL WORKER IN CASES OF VIOLENCE IN CHILDREN OF THE SECTOR MARÍA ISABEL* ROCAFUERTE

Abstract:

Violence is a problem of repercussion in the vital spaces of the human being and in society, in particular, boys and girls are victims of different forms of mistreatment or child violence, often this type of situation has a negative impact on minors. age causing consequences in their physical and mental health, however, there are legal regulations that promote the defense of the rights of the child population, in turn, the intervention of the professional in Social Work is essential, in correspondence with care and prevention of situations that put the integrity of minors at risk, in this sense, the objective of this investigation was to characterize the intervention of the Social Worker in cases of violence in children from the “María Isabel” sector of the Rocafuerte-Manabí-Ecuador canton. The development of this study was based on a descriptive, exploratory, analytical-synthetic methodology, the bibliographic method was used to collect theoretical references, the interview technique was applied to the Social Worker of the Cantonal Board of Rocafuerte and this research was complemented with the technique of the survey of 90 members of family groups in the “María Isabel” sector. The results showed that the intervention carried out by the professional in Social Work contributes to improving the well-being of children through activities family awareness raising to a large extent to prevent the increase in cases of violence against minors,
