IRREGULAR MIGRATION OF VULNERABLE GROUPS TO ECUADOR: A NON-OBSERVANCE OF HUMAN RIGHTS
Abstract:
Migration in Ecuador has been a matter of concern since the end of the 19th century, however in recent years they have gained greater notoriety and visibility. Given the above, the objective of this work was to determine the impact of Irregular Migration to Ecuador on the Human Rights of vulnerable groups. The methodology used was a cross-sectional design, qua-litative information, aware that knowledge was built through daily practice in which the vulnerable groups that are analyzed develop, action research, the technique used, the survey and the application of a questionnaire to 385 Venezuelans in an irregular condition. Venezuelan migrants have been victims of improper charges, xenophobia, hunger, robbery, extortion, physical and verbal abuse. For irregular migrants, residence is an essential requirement for people to be able to enjoy and exercise their rights. The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), together with other entities that defend human rights such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), have asked the different countries to analyze granting collective shelters, especially to those Venezuelans leaving their country.
