IRRIGATION TIMING THROUGH MICRO-COMPUTER CONTROLLED TENSIOMETERS.

Abstract:

The purpose is to describe the tensiometer modifications, the procedure developed for determining the appropriate depth of the tensiometer and the critical value of the soil pressure head at which water application should start. Finally the paper covers a description of the use of the technique for the optimization of the irrigation of greenhouse tomatoes.
