Identidad social e influencia de roles de género en la elección de carrera universitaria
Abstract:
The main objective of the following research is to know about different perspectives from young adults related to their bachelor is degree election, and the influence that gender roles can have in this decision. This research is based on the Social Identity Theory developed by Tajfel, which tries to explain the sense of belonging to different social groups (for this investigation whether they are men or women), and also under a gender perspective that puts in evidence that men and women relations interactions are still unequal. This investigation will be made under a qualitative method using content analysis. The sample will be taken from a private college in Quito to make the interviews and the focus group from the following degrees: Nursing, Electronics and Network Communication Engineering and Inicial Education. It is important to mention that all the ethic aspects will be considered during the investigation (all the legal papers that authorize the use of the private information from the people involved during this work). At the end, some intervention strategies have been developed, and they were adapted to the Ecuadorian context. These interventions are directed to education institutions such as high-schools or colleges.
