5-Alkylpyrrole-2-carboxaldehydes from the Caribbean sponges Mycale microsigmatosa and Desmapsamma anchorata

Abstract:

Thirteen new 5-alkylpyrrole-2-carboxaldehydes 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 were isolated from the sponges Mycale microsigmatosa and Desmapsamma anchorata. Their structures were assigned by analysis of the spectroscopic data. The nitrile 1 showed moderate activity against Leishmania mexicana.
