Identificación de la presencia, determinación de polimorfismos y medición de la expresión relativa del gen gamma-conglutina en lupinus mutabilis

Abstract:

Previous scientific publications have shown that the consumption of Lupinus reduces levels of blood glucose in people with type 2 diabetes. The conglutin- gamma protein has been identified as one of the possible active ingbkp_redients in Lupinus responsible for the decrease of blood glucose due to its enzymatic functions. The objective of this research was to determine the presence of conglutin-gamma and to measure its gene expression in three Andean varieties of Lupinus mutabilis (“chocho”). In order to determine the presence of the gene in Lupinus mutabilis a PCR was performed and subsequently sequenced using the Sanger sequencing method employing big dye terminator. The presence of conglutin-gamma gene was shown in the three varieties of L. mutabilis studied. The sequencing of the amplified fragments showed several polymorphisms existing between Lupinus mutabilis and Lupinus angustifolius...
