Identificación de talento matemático en niños y niñas de 10 a 12 años de edad de una escuela pública del noroeste de la parroquia Ballenita del cantón Santa Elena, durante el año lectivo 2012-2013
Abstract:
This thesis work was carried out with the aim of identifying boys and girls with mathematical talent, taking a sample of sixty students of sixth and seventh grades, ranging in age from 10 to 12 years; of a northwest public school in Ballenita Canton Santa Elena. Regarding the methodology used highlights the research design, which is not experimental, quantitative, descriptive and transversal because it is made without the deliberate manipulation of variables and phenomena are observed in their natural environment for later analysis. Several instruments were used as demographic surveys, psychological tests such as WFP, Screening questionnaires, teacher nomination questionnaire and mathematical problem solving. Contributed greatly and severtly to this identification input from parents and or legal guardians of students and teachers at the time of using the socio-demographic surveys as well in the nomination of teachers. Diagnostic instrumentation was performed according to numerical, abstract, logic, in order to assess the problem in question blocks. Based on exposed, I infer that lack of methodology and pedagogy by teachers, as well as social factors such as poor feeding in children and not conducive learning environment in the classroom, affect the development of mathematical talent in the evaluated.
