Identificación del Síndrome de Burnout y su relación con el rasgo de personalidad neuroticismo, en profesionales de la salud en la ciudad de Cuenca
Abstract:
The present investigation aims to examine the prevalence of the Burnout Syndrome in its three possible dimensions (emotional tiredness, depersonalization and lack of a sense of achievement) and its relation with neuroticism by examining the medical staff of three public health centers in Cuenca city during 2017. The bibliography was analyzed in a chronological order since 1960 until present in order to fully comprehend the concept, development and scientific models of the Burnout Syndrome. The present investigation was explorative, descriptive-transversal and qualitative. The levels and dimensions of the syndrome as well as its causes and consequences were analyzed through the application of questionnaires regarding sociodemographic variables, Maslach Burnout Inventory, evaluation of the coping methods, social support and personality furthermore its causes and consequences The data obtained determine that there is no evident presence of the Burnout Syndrome in the medical staff of the three centers that were analyzed. Their scores in the first two dimensions: (emotional tiredness and depersonalization) were low. Concerning the third dimension (lack of a sense of achievement), their high scores can be explained because of the great satisfaction they feel for the job they make.
