Identificación del síndrome de burnout y su relación con las horas de trabajo en profesionales de salud en dos instituciones privadas del sector sur este y sector centro de la ciudad de Cuenca durante el año 2016-2017


Abstract:

The present work is an investigation with the goal of identifying the burnout syndrome and its relation with the working hours of healthcare professionals. The healthcare professionals were selected from private institutions in the Eastern and central area in the city of Cuenca. In this investigation, the data was selected by using the following instruments: The ad-hoc social and labor variables questionnaire, MBI, GHQ-28, BRIEF-COPE-28, MOS y EPQR-A. Regarding the method used, this is a quantitative investigation, non-experimental, transitional, descriptive, explorative and correlational. A sample of 40 participants was used and its accessibility was non-probabilistic and accidental. In the investigation, it was detected 5% of the prevalence of burnout in the studied medical population. In terms of dimensions: high emotional exhaustion, doctors 35% and nurses 25% and low in nurses 60%, high depersonalization: 10% doctors and 15% nurses; Personal fulfillment: high doctors 30% and nurses 35%, low scale 45% doctors and 35% nurses. In addition to this, there is a significant correlation between working hours and the burnout syndrome. This indicates that the longer the working hours, the higher the probability of experiencing the burnout syndrome
