Identificación y valoración de visuales relevantes en el Paisaje Urbano Histórico de Cuenca: caso de estudio El Ejido
Abstract:
The Historic Urban Landscape (HUL) vision is aligned towards a broad approach for the conservation of heritage of urban areas. To this end, in 2011 the Recommendation on HUL was created as a complementary tool to policies and practices for the safeguarding in cultural contexts. One of the components that the Recommendation is the topic referred to relevant visuals, in which architectural, urban, natural and historical-cultural elements composes landscape. The city of Cuenca, is in charge of preserving its heritage, accepting local and international legal framework and guidelines. In this context, in the recent years, research has been undertaken to develop conservation techniques; one of these being the registration and evaluation of relevant visuals - developed in 2016 by the vlirCPM project-. The present research starts by recognizing observation points and important visuals of El Ejido area, that will be assessed under evaluation parameters in terms of visual quality, incidence and fragility. Likewise, social participation is considered essential to identify visuals and to know their importance for the citizens. A total of nine visuals were chosen, analyzed and assessed under evaluation parameters in terms of visual quality, incidence and fragility. The results show that some visuals have a very high value assessment as much as its quality and elements. Many are affected by some obstructive elements and vulnerable to the loss of their value assessment. Is exposed the latent problems in the landscape too, which along with the identified potentialities generated the general guidelines for the conservation of visuals and for the design of contemporary architecture without jeopardizing the landscape
