Identification of drug relationships base on drugs codes extracted from informatics systems
Abstract:
For the management of information generated from medical computer systems there are a variety of standards, ontologies and terminologies that are responsible for structuring and normalizing the information. Despite this, the large amount of data and codes generated make difficult to understand and work with medical data or entities like drugs. This work uses biomedical terminologies such as RxNorm, SNOMEDCT and the National Table of Basic Medicines of Ecuador to automatically group codes of drugs generated or extracted from a computer system. An application was created to enter a group of drugs codes to automatically group them according to a terminology and relationship. Python and PyMyTerm library were used to search and manage medical terminologies.
