Identification of land use conflicts for the observation of cuniculus paca, Ecuador
Abstract:
The aim of this paper is the identification of land use conflicts for the determination of observation sites of the Cuniculus paca, by using camera-trap, in two areas of Ecuador. The methodology consisted of: The Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP); Multicriteria Evaluation (MCE); GIS; identification of the forest wet tropical by means of visual interpretation on orthophotomaps and the supervised classification technique. Its reliability was verified by using the Confusion Matrix and Kappa Index. We concluded that it is seen in the studied areas that the proper use of the soil represents less than 20% of the total. Most of the lands are underu-tilized, according to the categories of spatial analysis that were used, with which the areas for the observation of the hunting species are restricted to few sites. The overall accuracy was 81.6 % and the Kappa index was 75.2 %.
