Identity and Autonomy: Assessing Skills

Abstract:

This research presents conceptions about Identity and Autonomy from the evaluation of the skills proposed in the area of the same name in the Early Education Curriculum and the evaluation from an intercultural approach focused on the educational needs and differences of the students and the methods used by teachers during the evaluation process. It is based on the theories of the plurality of identities of Amartya Sen (2006), the self-determination theory of Ryan and Deci (2000), the contributions of Erik Erikson, Côté-Lecaldare, and Joussemet and Dufour (2016), among others. The paradigm that guides the study is called Constructivist, the research is qualitative, descriptive and documentary, and the method is of analysis and synthesis. The sample corresponds to two early childhood education parallels. It was concluded that teachers use observational methods to evaluate these skills, highlighting checklists, role-plays and observation as the main method. Likewise, the skills of the Identity and Autonomy domain are in the acquisition process, the main difficulties being the virtual modality and the reduced class time.
