Impact of collaborative learning on the research competences of the university student

Abstract:

Research has previously found that students encounter various problems during research collaboration with their teachers, such as lack of time, uncoordinated schedules, or apathy. In this document, the lack of collaborative skills of students is exemplified as one of the common problems reported in the literature at the higher level of education and therefore at the University of Guayaquil, among Initial Education students. The descriptive and correlational methodology applied in the study used a stratified survey of 10 questions to the students (Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.93), which in a population of 482, by statistical formula, 215 were randomly chosen for the study. It is concluded that they consider in 80% that collaborative learning improved their research skills and that the Vygotskyan model of collaboration turned out to be innovative when using assistive technology.
