Impact of price fluctuation on the cost of production of agricultural products


Abstract:

It is important to address the economic situation of farmers, taking into account that most agricultural products in the northern part of Ecuador do not have a fixed price. The study set out the objective of analyzing the incidence of price fluctuations on the cost of tuber production. The study was quali-quantitative, the methods were inductive-deductive, analytical-synthetic, field type and bibliographic, the investigated population was made up of potato farmers from the San Pedro de Huaca canton, from the Carchi province, the technique research was the survey. It was determined that farmers exercise the activity as a legacy of their relatives, potato cultivation is the main source of income, prices are governed by the law of supply and demand, the fall in price is related to the amount of production existing in different markets, drastically affecting the recovery of investment.
