Abstract:

This research project aims to reduce the mechanical, ergonomic and chemical risks of a manufacturing section of a Cuenca company that produces doors for refrigerators. The study is cross-sectional, as it performs an initial evaluation of the 15 jobs in the section using the methods of William Fine, RULA, REBA, and OWAS, qualitative chemical analysis among others, where depending on the level of risk found, a risk matrix isdrawn up and five jobs are selected with intolerable and significant levels. These jobs are analyzed in greater depth to make a proposal for improvement implemented in four jobs. The implementation of the improvement of the fifth job position which has an important ergonomic risk is in process, and was not implemented yet, since the management, time and resources have been focused on the four jobs that precede it, since these reach intolerable levels of risk. In this way, a new risk matrix is made which shows the effective reduction of the risk level of the area in general, since initially from five intolerable risks, four important fourteen moderate and sixteen tolerable, it is reduced to zero intolerable risks, two important risks, twenty-one moderate and sixteen tolerable, where it is important to mention that one of the two important residual risks in the area corresponds to the existing chemical risk identified by carrying out this project, which needs to be carried out in greater depth to manage it properly.
