Implementación de un prototipo de una nube privada virtual mediante la plataforma Openstack para la administración de la red de la empresa Ciemtelcom S.A


Abstract:

Currently, CIEMTELCOM S.A. has IT management problems due to its fast expansion. The board of the company has requested a solution that encompass the administration of computing, storing and networks resources. In order to ease the resource management tasks of the TI department, the required solution seeks new technologies that lets it to: optimize the use of the resources, provide scalability, elasticity and availability. Thus, considering the nature of the business, this final degree project proposes the implementation of a private cloud computing prototype for CIEMTELCOM S.A. by means of the OPENSTACK platform. To do this, unique features of the cloud will be used, such as: mobility, storing and, availability. The prototype of this project implements the services of OPENSTACK in to a physical machine, in which two virtual computer servers are installed. These two on-cloud servers provide services like: domain control, web hosting, file and printing sharing. It`s important to notice that the administration of the computing resources in the cloud, e.g. the two virtual servers, can be done through a dashboard, accessible by internet or internet connections. The prototype was tested in a network environment with the same features that the enterprise deployed in its office. Results show that the prototype works as expected and more important is easily scalable and elastic. Finally, this project contains conclusions and recommendations about the carried-out work.
