Abstract:

In dentistry, biostatistics plays an extremely important role in the development of scientific research processes, since it allows a complete understanding of the diseases that develop in the oral cavity of human beings, allowing the establishment of causes, prevention strategies and treatments according to each reality, guaranteeing reliable studies with sufficient scientific rigor. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to identify the importance of biostatistics for the development of research in dentistry. Through the analysis of fundamental concepts and concrete examples, reaching the conclusion that it is essential that students acquire knowledge of statistics in their professional training.
