Importancia del sector floricultor en el desarrollo económico y social del Ecuador, período 2013-2017


Abstract:

The objective of the present analysis was to evaluate the incidence of the floriculture sector in the economic and social development of Ecuador during 2013-2017. The research approach is quantitative, its results were based on macroeconomic data from secondary sources. It is also descriptive, explanatory and documentary; and he used the inductive and deductive methods. The documentary review of official sources was used as: Central Bank of Ecuador, National Institute of Statistics and Censuses, and Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. The techniques of data analysis were: the visualization and correlation of data. From the results of the analysis it is concluded that the cultivation and export of Ecuadorian flowers has a positive impact on the economic and social development of the country, since it is a source of employment, income of foreign currency, strengthens savings, generates tax collection and stimulates growth economic. This sector generated 106,920 jobs in 2017. On average, USD 850,471 thousand were exported in flowers, which represent 5% of primary exports and 4% of total exports. Contributed during (2013- 17) to public finances with USD 31.53 million for taxes
