Improving hydraulic system energy efficiency with high-performance hydraulic fluids
Abstract:
Hydraulic fluids are commonly used for mechanical power transfer and lubrication. New hydraulic fluids are commonly compared to benchmark products with respect to qualities which include energy transfer efficiency and corrosion resistance. In this case, an energy transfer efficiency performance comparison was conducted on an injection molding system when it used a conventional fluid and when it used an alternative synthetic hydraulic fluid. Data analysis demonstrated a potential 16.7% overall energy consumption reduction when the conventional fluid was replaced by the alternative synthetic hydraulic fluid. © 1972-2012 IEEE.
