Improving the degree design of the civil engineering career. Ecuadorian case study


Abstract:

The degree process is a concern in universities that offer Civil Engineering, since it is the last step to graduate. The objective of this article is to show the process of continuous reform of the design of a degree in civil engineering in an Ecuadorian university. 4 stages were presented, each one is an improvement of the previous one. Stage 4 students, tutors, and thesis directors were surveyed. The results show the effectiveness of continuous reform and the need to continuously evaluate it. This work is the first in Latin America and will serve as a reference for other universities.
