Abstract:

This research work proposes to identify and analyze “Images of death and desolation as the main theme in Medardo Ángel Silva’s poetry: (El árbol del bien y del mal) and Santiago Vizcaíno’s poetry: (En la penumbra)”. It proposes to recognize Silva and Vizcaíno’s historical, modernist and current context in where each of them grew as poets interchangeably. Likewise their works were influenced by this context which helped to create poetry with startling themes. The study Silva and Vizcaíno’s poems allows to propose to Silva a as a big representative of Ecuadorian poetry and it is worth to mention Vizcaíno’s contribution to Ecuadorian poetry.
