Incidence of Helicobacter pylori in the generation of colon cancer, at the National Cancer Institute "Dr. Juan Tanca Marengo" "SOLCA" Guayaquil 2019


Abstract:

The prevalence of cancer in the Republic of Ecuador, has been increased annually, among this group of cancer is colorectal cancer (CRC), which may be one of the factors causing CRC infection by Helicobacter. pylori, motivated by the fact that this bacterium is associated with the appearance of polyps and adenocarcinoma of the colon, which associates it with the appearance of CRC and other colonic neoplasms. The objective was to establish the incidence of colorectal cancer cases with H. pylori of patients treated at the National Cancer Institute "Dr. Juan Tanca Marengo" "SOLCA" Guayaquil in 2019. Cross-sectional descriptive field study, population of 350 patients with oncological pathologies, 228 men and 122 women. A documentary study was made of the clinical history that they have in the area of oncology. Having as a result that the age group with the highest incidence was 41 - 60 years of male, incidence of intestinal bacterial infections produced by H. pylori bacteria are observed. Concluding the incidence of H. pylori in cases of CRC, established by the presence of this bacterium directly or by the effects caused by them. Being the collateral pathologies or precedent present in patients with CRC as is the inflammation generated by H. pylori, which can cause the emergence of colonic neoplasia and the appearance of carcinogenic activity on colonic cells.
