Incidence of acute myocardial infarction with left branch block, in the cardiac intensive care unit, ernesto guevara hospital, cuba 2017-2018
Abstract:
The electrocardiographic method was used to correlate the presence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) associated with complete blockade of the left branch (BCRI), in 760 patients admitted to intensive cardiological care at the Dr. Ernesto Guevara de la Serna Hospital, with some clinical manifestation or electrocardiography, framing it in acute coronary syndromes. Each of the electrocardiographic criteria was evaluated, relating them to the clinical and enzymatic movement of the creatine phosphokinase (CPK), to determine its sensitivity and specificity. The statistical analysis of the results showed that in 25% of the patients of the studied sample, there was a relation between the clinical criteria, the presence of the electrocardiographic criterion and the post-activity of the enzyme, CPK, defining them as an IMA associated with BCRI. Enzymes and electrocar-diograms were performed on 100% of the selected sample, which constituted the 190 acute coronary patients admitted to the Cardiological Intensive Care Unit of the Dr. Ernesto Guevara de la Serna Hospital, during the period July 2017-July 2018.
