Incidence of the Venezuelan migratory process in the Ecuadorian and Chilean labor market: Perspectives from the econometric scenario

Abstract:

The objective of the study is to determine how Venezuelan migration affects the labor market of Latin American countries. We worked with the data collected by the employment surveys in Ecuador and Chile. A logit model was applied. The results indicated that the Venezuelan migration does not generate unemployment in the different levels of qualification in Chile, otherwise in Ecuador, where it is evident that the Venezuelan migration only produces increases in the unemployment in the low qualification levels.
