Incidencia de Anemia ferropénica en adolescentes embarazadas atendidas en la consulta externa de un hospital de Guayaquil.


Abstract:

Iron deficiency anemia is a frequent condition in pregnancy, for this reason the objective of determining the incidence of iron deficiency anemia in pregnant teenagers attended in the Outpatient Consultation of a Hospital of Guayaquil, during the period 2018 was proposed. The descriptive methodology was applied, quantitative, with use of the survey applied to pregnant adolescents diagnosed with this disease, whose results indicated that 52% are 15 to 17 years old, 21% are 18 to 19 years old, 57% have the first complete level, 30% the second level of education, 67% are single mothers, 62% live in marginal urban sectors; the factors associated with iron deficiency anemia were that 46% consumed three meals a day and 35% less than three meals a day, corroborating that the pregnant women's diet has insufficient amounts of zinc, iron and vitamin B12, because 43% proceeded to the intake of a diet rich in carbohydrates, only for 18% was rich in proteins; the rate of pregnant adolescents with iron deficiency anemia who attended prenatal care was 60% and the incidence in teenage pregnant women amounted to 30%. In conclusion, there is a high percentage of pregnant women under age with this disease, who have a high risk of complicating their health and that of their child.
