Abstract:

The objective of this project is to raise awareness of the importance of breastfeeding as the main food to give to newborns, as the main problem they face is the lack of knowledge about the benefits of breast milk, so the importance of implementing Baby Friendly Hospital in Luis F. Martinez Hospital program, through knowledge, management and implementation of the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding, for which interviews were applied to medical staff, nursing mothers and served in this house health, to establish the area to improve the level of knowledge about proper breastfeeding and the importance of not providing substitutes. Giving as a result more than 75% of staff between doctors and nurses not only they know but apply the 10 steps to successful breastfeeding. Over 80% of workers have worked or have witnessed in the Hospital Luis F. Martinez these 10 steps apply. Mothers treated in this nursing home between 75% and 90% have received attention adapting, getting medical advice prior, during and after childbirth and have witnessed the commitment of the staff of the institution to provide adequate treatment and proper attention
