Inclusion of flour of Lemna perpusilla to feed fingerlings of Oreochromis mossambicus x O. niloticus

Abstract:

There is currently a shortage of conventional foods for aquaculture species and their costs are too high, causing decrease in production, it is necessary to evaluate unconventional food that meets the requirements of these organisms. Therefore, it was determined in a completely randomized design with three replications, the productive performance of hybrid red tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus x O. niloticus) by formulating four diets with inclusion levels of Lemna perpusilla flour at 0, 6, 12 and 18% in the diet. An analysis of variance of simple classification was performed, evaluating the productive indicators. No significant difference (p ≥ 0.05) between treatments were found. The final weight increased and the absolute growth, increased daily weight conversion factor and feed efficiency. The best results of weight at the end of the test were obtained at 0% (5.84 g) followed by 18 (5.74 g), 12 (5.68 g) and 6 (5.60 g) inclusion. Survival was positively showed throughout the investigation. It is concluded that Lemna perpusilla flour can be used in the feeding of hybrid red tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus x O.niloticus), without affecting the productive indicators evaluated, or physico-chemical water parameters to include 18%.
