Income and inequality: The hypothesis of Kuznets in the Bolivian case


Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to estimate Gini and Theil inequality indices; thus, show income distribution differences in the urban and rural areas of Bolivia; likewise, Kuznets hypothesis fulfillment is compared for information needs. In this sense, estimates made in this study consider households survey data collected by the National Statistics Institute in 2014. Results show some contradictions in the fulfillment of Kuznets Hypothesis in the Bolivian case.
