Index Relationship of Vegetation with the Development of a Quinoa Crop (Chenopodium quinoa)in its First Phenological Stages in Central Ecuador Based on GIS Techniques
Abstract:
We proposed to encounter the relationship between quinoa vegetation indices in a controlled trial and a commercial crop, taking data in the field by means of an airport multispectral sensor and a spectroradiometer, in order to spectrally characterize such grain. Spectral, LAI and PAR data have been collected in controlled experiment, while a UAV flight has been realized, realizing spectral data in a commercial crop. We obtained in a controlled experiment, a SAVI reflectance-based equation, NDVI, CCI and SAVI indexes values as well as spectral signatures, curves and comparative graphs. In a commercial crop, RGB and multispectral images were captured through an UAV, also ortho-mosaics and NDVI maps, as well as numerical values of this index. Based on our data, we ratified in a controlled experiment, the optimal nitrogen fertilization dose in quinoa. It has been possible to encounter differentiations between quinoa with and without fertilizer and between its first phenological stages by spectral methods. Furthermore, there is a close relationship between NDVI, CCI and SAVI indexes. With captured data in the commercial crop, a correlation analysis has been performed, that resulted in close to zero and negative R2 values, as quinoa, as being an herbaceous plant, it does not have a significant vegetable mass, which causes that the soil influences the NDVI index.
