Indicators of yield and chemical composition of Andropogon gayanus

Abstract:

The potential of the grasses for the production of milk and meat is defined by the quality and the capacity of emitting biomass of forage. The present investigation was developed among the months of June to August of 2015, Property Anabel", Canton The Manna", in the parish Guasaganda, county of Cotopaxi, Ecuador; they were determined the effect of the harvesting age in the yield and chemical composition of the Andropogon gayanus. A design experimental blocks was used at random with four treatment (30, 45, 60 and 75 days) and five repetitions. For it, parcels of 20 m2 were used (3x4), with a mark of plantation of 0,50 x 0,20 m; the variable answer was the long of the plant, extension and wide of the leaf, YHM and RDM; as well as DM, CB, CF, EE, ash and ELN. The best results were obtained the 75 d in how many to the indicators with 1,13 m for the growth, 0,99 and 0,02 for the development to foliate and 4,09; 1,06 t of green and dry matter, respectively; while the content of nutrients diminished with the increase of the period of study. You concluded that the maturity has a marked effect on the variables in study, with an increment of the productivity and decrease of its quality.
