Influence of early stimulation on the sensorimotor development of children aged four to six: A vision from Karate Do
Abstract:
The article exposes as a central element the value of Early Stimulation in the sensorimotor development of children between four and six years old; the analysis is carried out from the perspective of Karate Do as a mediating resource and through a methodology for the teaching and learning of this sport, whose structural and procedural elements defend the relevance of this approach, not as a preventive resource, but as a determining factor in these days. The approach is based mainly on the biological laws of the processes of growth and development. Internally, the methodology provides tools for the diagnosis of learning capacity, and recognition of the zone of proximal development as starting points, containing strategies focused on sensory-motor stimulation that allow the development of basic motor skills and familiarization with specific motor skills of the sport. For the validation of the proposal we work with 14 karate schools, which contributed a population of 171 beginner athletes, from which a sample of 52 children between four and six years old was defined through an intentional non-probabilistic design. For the empirical validation of the proposal, a pedagogical pre-experiment was used in natural conditions with a previously defined hypothesis. The collected data were subjected to a goodness-of-fit test: Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS). The Wilcoxon non-parametric test was used to test the pre- and post-treatment tests and the SPSS 23.0 package was used to process the information. The results obtained in each indicator (16) demonstrated the significance of the changes, with p = .000, in agreement H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected, concluding that the dependent variable improved significantly as a result of the intervention.
