Influence of mentor teacher training on students’ formative research

Abstract:

Formative research is a learning process in the development of a research culture in the student that transcends the obtaining of concrete scientific results and stimulates students’ abilities and interests in relation to research, with the objective of strengthening their professional capacities. In this sense, the present study focuses on how the teacher’s preparation can influence to achieve such effects in the students, for which the general objective is defined: to determine the relationship between the tutor teacher’s training and the research results of the students of the Universidad Regional Autónoma de Los Andes, Ecuador. For the development of this research, techniques and tools were used such as: visual observation, documentary review, interviews and two (2) questionnaires to inquire about the students’ motivation. The statistical reliability test of the instruments developed was carried out; validity was demonstrated through expert judgment and reliability through Cronbach’s alpha for both instruments.
