Influence of the knowledge management capacity in the development of process innovation

Abstract:

One of the challenges facing companies in Latin American countries is to compete in a globalized world and develop different types of innovation. This study assesses the influence of knowledge management capacity, given the capacity of resources reflected in different investments, in the development of process innovation, also taking into account the moderating role of human capital. This work was carried out with a quantitative, non experimental and of transversal characteristics approach, using as methodology the structural equation mode-ling (SEM) with transactional design. It is concluded that the capacity for knowledge management (CGC) in organizations has a positive and significant influence on process innovation (IP), while human capital (CH) turned out to be a factor that significantly influences, positively, the CGC, constituting this in a need to perform IP. A mathematical model was developed that allows to pbkp_redict the type of company with respect to its innovation.
