Information and communication technologies in the development of stochastic models applied to the health sector

Abstract:

A stochastic simulation model allows to study and represents in a simpli-fied manner the behavior of complex variables in terms of probability. In this context, the objective of this work is to present, through the use of information and communication technology tools, the applicability of simulation models and methods, in studies of indicators within the health sector. Through the development of a case study, this work demonstrates the potential of the @Risk and Excel technological tools in the construction of stochastic models that allow health professionals to pbkp_redict, monitor and support decision making in the treatment and monitoring of indicators and indices of a population.
